Offline and private by design
Gurbani Soul is built to be a quiet, private place to read. That is not a setting you turn on — it is how the app is made.
Everything is on your device
The complete Granth, the search index, Nitnem, the Hukam, the Raag Clock and the widgets all run from data bundled inside the app. There is no server to call. The app works in Airplane Mode, on a plane, in a Gurdwara basement, or anywhere with no signal at all — because it never needed a connection in the first place.
No account, no tracking
There is nothing to sign up for and no profile to create. The app keeps no analytics, embeds no third-party tracking SDKs, and sends nothing about your reading anywhere. Your place in each bani, the days you have read, and anything you save stay on your device.
“Data Not Collected”
Apple asks every app to declare what it collects, on the App Store privacy label. Gurbani Soul’s answer is Data Not Collected — the plainest answer there is. The app’s bundled privacy manifest records no tracking and no collected data types, so the claim on the listing and the behaviour of the app are the same thing.
Why it matters for scripture
Reading Gurbani is a personal act, and it should not be watched, scored, or turned into a data trail. Keeping everything on the device is also what lets the app verify the text offline: the scripture, its checksum and its citations all travel together, with nothing added over a network.
You can read the full policy on the privacy page, and if you ever have a question or spot something to correct, support is a person, not a form that feeds a database. The same verified text is also on the web in the Knowledge Base.
